Heat mat in wooden viv hi all looking for some opinions on what to use to cover my heat mat in my wooden viv plan is to set up the mat cover it and use aquatic silicone to hold the cover down i originally thought of using reptile grass but realised if this is stuck down and gets shit on it will be a pain to clean.

If placed inside the vivarium under some sand or substrate your animal may scrape away the substrate and burn itself.

This means they can get burnt very easily when lying on a heat mat.
In a plastic glass vivarium heat mats should go outside the cage and the heat will be emiited through the vivarium walls.
These devices attach to the inside top of the cage and will heat both the air and provide heat for a basking spot directly below them.
Helpful if you own reptiles.
They should never be used for bearded dragons or geckos as these reptiles can t feel heat through their stomachs.
